“We build our confidence by learning to adapt.” 

Perfectionism wrecks confidence.  When we set our expectations on perfection and then don’t achieve the perfect picture we had in our head, it feels like failure and our ability to believe in ourselves and the choices we make takes a hit.  There is beauty in learning to manage the moments of life that we don’t feel our best.  Whether it’s training our brains to notice the feeling of less than without attaching to it and then identifying our best response to it, or training a “this too shall pass” mindset in that moment, like the tide that goes out and comes back in. Knowing that life is a training ground for greatness, and the uncomfortable and imperfect moments make us stronger and more resilient, is the antidote to fear.  2Perfection is rooted in our ego, but adaptability is part of our soul.  When we can lean on our ability to adapt rather than perfect, the stage of life becomes much bigger.  We can do things in this place that we never saw from the top window of the perfect castle we think would be so wonderful to have.  

Daily Action: Write about an area of your life where you struggle with perfection. Whether body image, expectations in relationships, or another area of life, what do you need to let go of to acknowledge yourself as enough as you are today? 

Daily Reframe: Confidence allows us to connect with our choices with honesty.
